This article has the 9 steps you will need to take to have a Profitable Online Home Business! Some “Internet Guru’s” will disagree with me, as they think that there are only 8 steps, but they seem to forget about the most important step of all. “Learning” Learning what it is all about, it’s more then just finding/having a product or service to put on a website and just watch the cash roll in.

Even though finding your niche and having good content on your site for your customers and search engines is very important, there are some other very important things that are being neglected. Learning to find the right Keywords and how to advertise your site correctly is a big key to your success online, don’t get me wrong, it’s important but not impossible.

These steps can be done no matter who you are, if you have your own product/services, if you have some ideas for your own product/services but need help creating them, or if you just want to promote someone else’s product/services as an affiliate, these are all profitable as long as you learn how to do them correctly. Again, don’t get me wrong, having an Online Home Business is the easiest, fastest and most inexpensive way to have a home business or to have the multi-streams of income roll in, but I want you to have the honest truth about it, so you don’t get disappointed when you don’t make a million $ over night and with no investment.

9 Steps

1.Learning the basics- Like anything you have to learn how things work and what the rules are. The Internet is very different from the “Traditional brick and mortar” business. Even though there are some similarities with both of them, in an offline business, you are limited by location and local competition. On the Internet, you can reach people round the world and there is more competition, but nothing you can’t handle. There is plenty for everybody.

So it is essential that you that learn the basics of selling products/services online first, then go to the next step. How do you do this? My favorite is reading e-books and Audios. You can find the one’s I suggest at the links below or you can do a search on the Internet. Just be careful in doing this as there are some so call “Internet Guru’s” that are only interested in make the money, not teach you how to do the same.

2.Next, after you have got the basics down and under your belt, then we move on to finding your niche market. Finding a niche is very important and seeing if it

will be profitable, just because you are interested in it doesn’t mean that anyone else is.

The best way to do this is “surf” the web. Pick a topic that you know about or are interested in and see if others share your interests. Check out the site that are the top ten and see if they relate to what your are wanting to promote and maybe able to become an affiliate with or if you can improve on their product or service, etc… Do your research.

3.This step is very important as well, researching and finding the products or services you want to promote. If you didn’t find what you were looking for in the above step, then here’s another chance to do so. This can be done a couple ways. Dropshippers/wholesalers, if you plan to create your own Website and affiliate programs if you just want to promote other peoples website links, both are a great way to find products.

4.Next, if you have decide to have your own website, then you need to buy a domain name. You can do a search on the Internet. Pick a domain name that is related to your product/services or your niche market.

5.Now, you will need to find a Web host. Not to difficult there, you can find the one I suggest at my link below or you can do a search on the Internet. Just make sure you do the research and that the one you pick can provide everything you need to promote your product/services.

6.You can do this next step one of two ways. Take classes in Professional Web design and buy expensive Web design software or use an “easy to use” Web builder that most Web hosting companies will provide for free, that will give you the same results as the professional Web design will. I like the second choice as it is like a plug and play version.

7.If you are going to have a Website than you don’t want to miss this step. Build a opt-in list and write your own newsletter to keep in touch with your visitors/customers. Autoresponders work great for this.

8.This step and the next step have to do with advertising. Free advertising is there, you just have to know where to look, but it’s not totally free as you do have to spend your time with it. 9.Now, for the fastest way to get visitors to your site is to get listed with the pay-per-click search engines. Overture, Google adword, and Kanoodle are good for this. Google Adword is the only one that you do not have to have your own landing page to promote with them, you can just have it go directly to you affiliate link.

*tips- When surfing the internet in the above steps search for things like “best Web Hosting”, “Web Hosting”, “buy domain name”, “need domain name”, etc…

Is your work at home business doing good right now? Do you depend on it, monthly? Does it generate a considerable amount of income for you? What if I said you could lose it in a blink of an eye? Far too many work at home business owners don’t realize that their work at home business is only as “stable” as the computer that they use for it. Think about it. Many people build their entire work at home business around their computer. The computer is their link to all of their websites that make them money. It is also the place where they store their business software, e-books, products, customer information etc. Take that computer away and how will YOU go on?

Many people take their computers for granted. They think it’s an absolute which will always be there for them. Many people don’t realize that all it takes for that “life line” to be cut could be a small power surge or a hard drive failure. Poof! Just like that, your work at home business can be gone! Or imagine yourself the victim of a natural disaster, like a hurricane. Could your come back and pick up from where you left off? Or will you lose everything and have to start over from scratch? What can a work at home business owner who makes a living on the internet and relies on their computer, do to make sure he or she can recover from a catastrophe? Here are a few suggestions.

1) Separate your business from your personal work..

Ideally it would be nice to have two computers, one for your personal use and one for your business use. Perhaps you can’t afford to have two computers, If so, then organize your business data separately in different folders on your computer. It can be as simple as creating a folder called “Business” and storing all relevant data and information in that folder. This will make it easy for you to locate and back up your data when needed.

2) Backup your websites.

This only applies if you have your own websites. It’s always a good idea to backup your entire website and download the “dump” onto your computer at regular intervals. Backing up your website is a time consuming process and should only be done when ever after you make a significant change to it. Obviously you need to have your own web hosting account in order to backup your site. Affiliates who promote other people’s websites cannot back up the site for obvious reasons. But even they can write down important information such as usernames and passwords along with important website addresses. Having a “hard copy” of important information is always a good idea.

3) Get your computer a surge protector

Your home business computer can easily be wiped out by a simple power surge. Protecting your computer from such a power surge is pretty easy these days. It’s also cheap. You can get yourself a surge protector

from a local Radio Shack for under $30. The latest ones also have a built in surge protector for your phone line that stops a surge before it reaches your modem. Those of you who have dial up modems should get this upgrade.

4) Print your important documents and file them

You might have important documents such as customer details or expensive e-books on your computer. Print them out and file them neatly. Store the files in a safe place like a bank’s safety deposit box. You never know when a “hard copy” might come in handy.

5) Backup your computer on external drives

Buy two external USB Hard drives. Right now, you can get a pair of 80GB USB hard drives for under $150. Consider the cost as an investment and ask yourself which costs more - your business or $150? Once you get the two external drives back up your business data onto one of the drives regularly. If you have organized your data into a “business” folder, simply copy it onto the new drive. Make a backup of the first external hard drive onto the second one at least once a week. This ensures that you have TWO identical eternal hard drives at all times.

6) Don’t keep the backups in the same place

I’d advice you to keep the second backup hard drive in a location other than your home. For example at your bank’s safety deposit box. This ensures that, God forbid, something happens to your home, you always have another backup else where.

7) Make sure that your computer is protected from Viruses and Spyware/Adware

Having a backup is a good start but you must try to keep your computer in good working condition so that you won’t NEED to restore from a backup. Make sure your computer has a virus guard installed and that you scan for malicious adware and spyware programs. Preventing a break down is as important as having a contingency plan.

Use common sense

And finally, there’s no substitute for common sense. If that little voice at the back of your head tells you that the monitor is not a coffee cup holder, then listen to it. Try to prevent disasters before they happen by using common sense. It might save you a lot in the long run! There you have it. A backup plan for your online work at home business. I hope that you take heed and actually DO something about it before you end up losing your livelihood. Remember that prevention is better than “cure” and when it comes to your work at home business, I’m sure you’ll agree with me on this.

1. The biggest obstacle - YOU!

Yes, you read correctly - it’s you! Now that you are
your own boss, the only attitude you can control is
your own. You have to project a positive attitude whether
you are face to face, on the telephone or on the computer,
people can feel your moods, even from your writing.

Whether you want to work your home business part-time
or full-time, do not work it just occasionally. If you
treat your new business as a hobby, you will be paid
like a hobby and frankly, I have not seen a hobby that
pays you well enough… BE CONSISTENT AND PERSISTENT!

2. Get rid of negative people!

You have two options when it comes to people. They either
follow you, or make sure you get out of their way! Look
for people who want to change. You can’t deal with whiners!

3. So now you do not have to get up in the morning…

After all, you are your own boss… Whether you work a
regular 9-5 job or work from home, it is impertinent that
you manage your time. Have a daily planner and mark the
time you will work, eat, read (yes, educate yourself
continually!), have fun, sleep, etc. This will be your
ideal workday.

Make sure and find a healthy balance between all your
activities. Don’t forget your family, they’re important
too… reserve time to spend with your loved ones.

4. Back to time management… it’s double important!

I have found that successful people who work from home have
deadlines, do not have time to talk for hours on the phone
with friends, and above all, are more productive. If you
find yourself saying “I do not have time” ask yourself how
many hours you watch TV… or do other wasteful activities?

5. This tip

is especially for women and housemen!

Explain to your children what you are doing. Make
arrangements with them so you’re not constantly
interrupted. Maybe you have to hire a baby-sitter?

After all, when you worked a regular job, isn’t this what
you had to do? I know a mother who involves her school
age children and then pays them a percentage of her revenue.

It’s a great idea to awake that entrepreneurial spirit!

6. Find a company that gets you excited!

Whether you market a product or a service, look carefully
at the company. What is their track record? Do they
enter the market with a new company every few months,
only to take the money and run…? Do your homework!

7. Choose a company that offers training…

Maybe even certification in their specific field. Look
at it from your point of view: If you could design the
perfect business, what features would it have? Then
look for that company… even if it’s your own!

8. So now, sit back and get rich quick on the Internet…

WRONG! Remember, even the best companies with the best
products aren’t worth anything without people. Learn what
it is that people want and then share the benefits of your
product or service.

It is the *benefits* that you market not the products or

While you may not consider a message to be Spam, if the person receiving it does, it’s SPAM. 3. Posting ads on Forums: Like spamming , posting ads on forums message boards can [most likely will] get you banned. Forums are only to be used as sources of information about business opportunities. You can ask questions , or get/give advice about any

“Work At Home” business , or other topics , but absolutely not allowed to place any ads of any kind. When visiting Forums, always look for their rules/regulations , so you know what is and is not acceptable on these Forums.

4. Submitting to FFA’s. These are free for all sites that you can post your ads on. Do not waste your time posting your ads on these sites ,because your site will never get seen. Worse ,because most FFA’s have such low rankings ,it will give your site a low rank ,because you posted on them. Place your ads on classified ad sites. Here is how to find classified site to place your ads. Go to your favorite Search Engine and type” free home business classifieds” or something like that. 5. Shouting Other than using caps to emphasize a few words within an e-mail ,or a web page, do not use all caps. Using all capital letters in a text or a correspondence is considered shouting, and shouting at people just causes them to leave.

Slow response to e-mails: If someone has taken the time to send you an e-mail for more information about your business, or has some questions, and you do not respond to them in a timely manner, then you probably have lost a potential customer, or an affiliate. Even if you do not know the answers [you may still be learning] let them know that you do not have the answers, but you will find out for them, and get back to them A.S.A.P .

7. No persistence: Let me tell you that there is no such thing as a “Get Rich Quick Scheme” They do not exist. What kind of support and training does the Internet company offer? What kind of support and training do you want when you start up your home business? Do you want ongoing training ? Or just a Smart Start Training ?

4. Great Products

Does the company offer exclusive product like vitamin or special information ? Is it easy to sale ? Is it a quality product ? Does it have a money back guaranteed ? Are they to pricey to buy ?

5. Compensation Plan

Does the company offer a good commission like between

40% to 80% per sales ? Does it offer residual income ? (a residual income; is an income you get month after month on the same product you sell to the clients as long as he keeps buying it).

Does it offer great rewards like after 4 sales you get a bonus ? Are there clear goals that you can achieve? Is it hard to achieve does goals ?
